But can you tell which is which now?
These fibres can't be separated by chemical analysis, so if your company is using speciality animal fibres and want to ensure that you have the correct fibre labelling - or to confirm that your supplier is really providing these high value fibres - then we are the most accurate* laboratory for microscopic analysis.
Mary joined TFT from BTTG where she had almost 20 years experience in this field and she has successfully participated in all the inter-laboratory trials organised by the Cashmere & Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute, trials that are designed to assess the ability of microscopists for both identification and measurement. She is internationally recognised as one of the few people who are fully competent in this important work.
She was the only microscopist to successfully differentiate in one of the Round Trials between cashmere and yak, a fibre increasingly being used as an inferior cashmere substitute.
For samples that do not require removal of non-animal fibre we can offer you a faxed or e-mailed report within 24 hours for either qualitative or quantitative analysis.
*We
are now the only lab with 100% success rate in all the CCMI Round Trials.
We have three microscopists who successfully completed the last Round Trial*
